I actually worked for a startup who wanted who wanted their apps written in Java because it "scales". To this day they don't realize hardware is cheaper than deveopers.

That's because their apps are written in Java and they need people to maintain them. Java isn't going anywhere for a while.

When clicking this link, I received a pop up ad, an overlay box ad, and an auto playing video ad which took up the bottom half of the screen covering up most of the content. No thanks.

I was responding to jinushaun's comment on how Node.js is easy to develop on. CoffeeScript compiles to JavaScript. Give http://jashkenas.github.com/coffee-script/ a good read and you'll convert too!

You can say the same thing for any OSS project but then why is open source so damn popular? If you don't want to contribute then that's your own decision. No one is forcing you to do anything.

The current bureaucracy is flawed. It is not community owned but government by a "core maintainer" group where decisions are not publicize nor is there a roadmap anywhere. I went through the necessary communication channels BEFORE I started

Hello. I started rubylang.info and I feel that I should say this. I had contacted the team who maintains ruby-lang.org and it is what actually inspired me to create this so called "fork". The way they're doing things right now is discouragi

TDD isn't a tool, it's a process of developing software. This is just the internal stuff, you DONT need to know this using git on a day to day basis. I use git for all my projects and most of the time, i mainly just type `git commit -a -m "
