Just do it in the break room/kitchen, not in the workspace, which should be treated with the same respect as a library (if you provide private offices with doors that close, feel free to disregard). Group chat rooms that aren't #r

Work communications are not a place for fun. They are a place for productivity and focus. If your company's work is not fun by itself (interesting problems, no bs, etc.), that's a problem! Fix that, don't gloss over it with d

While that's a great idea, it assumes that people have control over their work environment, which they typically don't. That's why I'm sitting at a flimsy Ikea desk with about 20 square feet of space to myself.

Note that Soylent has continually reduced the fiber (and protein!) content of their drink, while increasing non-fiber carbohydrates.

It subclasses the typical Foundation/AppKit classes, so I don't think that is the case.

Can you negotiate that benefit away for additional salary or vacation time off?

You should also do "undefined vacation" - the company that I work has, as far as I can tell, no vacation policy. People do take vacation, but it has never been mentioned as a coherent thing. Another good one would be alcohol and a

Are the four images on that page supposed to be animating smoothly? Mine are hard transitioning every second or so, serially from left to right. Weird.

I watched a sportsball on Twitter once and it was really the same as ESPN's site or the pirate streams from reddit, once you fullscreen it. Just another live stream, there (thankfully) wasn't any Twitter integration popping over t

It seems like a lot of these are very promotional - using a lot of superlatives to describe the person, and all of their work/accomplishments. Is this necessary? I feel very uncomfortable doing that sort of thing, it feels cringey I

Do appliances in London need to be white? Or does that mean something else? I can't find anything on Google for "london white appliances", other than places to buy white appliances in London.

Some of these comparisons aren't great. The "Variable Number Of Arguments" example is better expressed in Swift with "reduce", and it's really comparing "summing an array", the varargs aspect is a min

I'd be very surprised if asking people to waste a week of vacation on only a 66% chance of getting a job (that they probably don't even need , if they're already employed) wasn't a strong filter against top performers.

It's the interest rate you pay if you do not pay off your credit card in full every month, but you should always pay off your credit card in full every month, so it doesn't actually matter.

Why does this matter? If it does, you're doing it incredibly wrong. The annual fee and pathetic rewards percentage are much more odious.

Since the eastern US is only five hours behind London, you could have free time during the day and work mostly in the evening? Matinée prices, lunch specials, and most importantly sunlight abound! Right now I work for all of the good parts

This doesn't add up though, people often talk about salaries of 60k Euro or less, and then you have to pay higher taxes on that. A $65k salary would be a joke for a software engineer in the US.
