How about http://kickstarter.com ? Most of the list seems to be telling the kind of people who read HN, and not potential customers. Unless we are your potential customers.

I think the lottery analogy is perfect, and that is what my wife and I call it when I work on games: "What are you working on?" "Buying more Ocean C'Motion lottery tickets" So far my lottery tickets are losing money

Occasionally I look for a way to submit bugs for a few minutes and then give up, but the one big company I have had contact with is Apple ( https://bugreport.apple.com ). I always get some feedback from them.

The biggest advantage seems to be in the iOS account. You can test and even distribute Mac programs with out being a member, but for iOS you can't even test on your own device with out an account. You don't need a Mac account unle

I have often thought that we could do much more to improve fuel economy, safety, and travel times by getting cars to communicate with each other and a traffic control center. Tightly bunched cars should be able to travel through intersectio

Given enough time I could always come up with an answer to my programming problems. Quickly finding a peer-reviewed answer on StackOverflow seems like a much better option to me. It all depends on your goals though, I guess.

Why do you assume underpowered? My iPad 4, which is a few years old now has amazing graphics at higher than HD resolution. I don't know enough about the processors to compare them directly, but I don't see any reason to count out

This isn't very valuable with out the full questionnaire visible. Most of these kinds of "studies" come from huge questionnaires. If you ask enough questions then your statistics will show a strong link between something .

The problem is that it is VERY hard to do a conclusive study on this. Never mind that a low dose radiation study would take many years: the hard part is that you need to randomly select half of your group to use only non-radiating (non-func

Office 365 may be a bargain for some people, but that is much more than I have been sending to MS over the last few years. As a student this will make me start paying more and its looking a lot more like a cell phone bill than a one time pu

It is because people like me are in the process of switching over to iWork because my on the go platform is an iPad. I am still in the middle of the transition, and this will make me reconsider.

It is like the Mac/PC or Android/iPhone hardware question. If someone cares how many cores their computer has then they will probably shop for an Android phone with a fancy processor. Most Mac buyers pick "the cheap one"

3 years is a loooooong time for the internet. I am going to put a note on my calendar to post this again in 3 years. What is the median age of an active HN account anyway?
