If your goal is to reduce your attack surface, then yes, even a modem without a SIM is too much. The modem in your phone isn't like a modem from the days of dialup, it's more like a cable modem. More often than not, the modem is i

pbcopy and pbpaste are what turned me on to this use case. pbcopy ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub is so handy.

Yup, Dart itself is an ok language (and has improved dramatically in the time I've used it), but the tooling around Dart and Flutter are what make me stay. It's all fairly standard, but complete, and it basically always just works

Looks like the GUI uses WinForms, which means you won't be able to build it on linux, I would wager. You may, however, be able to run an already built version of it through Wine.

Exactly this. I realized that a lot of how I use objects fits in nicely with FP patterns, but when I started looking into FP "best practices" the number of times the best practice is "Replicate this exact behavior from a

People bitch about the Android kernel and its lack of upstreaming because we get stuck with perfectly serviceable devices that are dangerous to use because they don't get updates 3 years after we bought them. Forking a project with you

Except they do. Google Pay / Wallet is built in Flutter, and so was Stadia. It's a bit nonsensical to think that they'd rewrite every existing app they have in Flutter, even if it is their own toolkit. Google doesn't bel

If you liked dart back then, you absolutely should check it out again today. It's improved greatly and easily has the best developer experience of any language I've ever used. Not to mention one of the most rapidly improving. Non-

There is a web api for this: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Screen_Capt... There is also a proper macOS API for this, which they are skirting using by using this hack.

I mean, Microsoft should know that the browser's user agent is untrustworthy and should be using feature detection. They did do this on purpose, and it's a bad practice in the web industry.
