Out of curiosity, why do you think the content is worse than IRC. Slack seems to me to be the same type of instantaneous communication as IRC.

It's definitely possible. It was a startup, I think they only had a few thousand employees. But I think applied in the fall. So their intern program probably filled up really fast if it was full.

I don't know what their criteria was. I guess they could have skimmed it for a few seconds. I actually just had a classmate tell me that they just had an interview for an internship at that company. But I can say I do have a good resum

I once got a rejection from an internship application late one night a few hours after I applied. I wouldn't be really surprised if I had been automatically rejected. And my rejection might have been because the state university I went

True, but studying the theory gives a better intuition for big-O. And theory is helpful for some of the edge cases that can be more complicated. For instance, I wouldn't want to try to determine the run-time of a recursive algorithm wi

Do you think that your intuition for not doing something stupid came from studying the theoretical side of cs? Sure, you should be able to get a good idea of the runtime of code without spending much time looking at it, but I'd say pe

Their plan seemed really unfocused too. They wanted to create a major website just to run ads on it. I agree, this just looks like a con.

I think they've been spending a lot of money getting new users. They've been offering new accounts discounts, I think you can get 15% to 20% off right now. They've had a bunch of items show up on some discount shopping forums

How do you handle the separation between home and work? I've noticed that when I am working for an hourly wage at a business I appreciate not having to think about work after I leave.

I've also heard that it's a good idea to stop at a point where there are some very easy things that you need to do, even if you might need to introduce some errors to get to that point. For instance if you were writing a paper, an

That sounds very similar to BJ Fogg's tiny habit's program. He adds in the idea of tiny celebrations and doesn't talk much about consequences or including other people. But he runs a free email program nearly every week that

I haven't been meditating for long, but I prefer to think of it more as an observation of yourself. Just focus on your breath and maybe count. Count how long you breath in and out and keep that number the same, or count the number of b
