This is one of the coolest web apps I've ever seen. How it handles multiple windows, docking, local drafts. Wow, well done!

Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe it could be formalized this way? (with t = 1 table) 1/3 * (1 table) + 1/3 * (1 table) = 2/6 * (2 tables) or 1/3 * t + 1/3 * t = 2/6 * 2 * t but 2/6 * 2 = 2/3 so you

Could be. It's still not the framework's fault though.

I'm talking about popular frameworks like Django and Rails. Quite the opposite.

The purpose of a framework is to set constraints so that precious brain cycles aren't wasted on opinionated, (most of the time) irrelevant technical choices (and related training). So that, hopefully, the sum of the knowledge each dev

I'm sure it would, in some cases at least. I'd be more interested in understanding who gets the blame.

Does using an unofficial API authenticated with someone else (e.g. a customer)'s account count as a violation of the ToS? In other words: who gets reprimanded/sued? The final user or the messenger?

Use the web app then. Once you're on the page use one of the "shortcut" features of Chrome or Edge and you can open it as a separate app.

It depends on how the video is structured. You should divide a video into sections and index them the same way you would with a book.

Writing seems to be the single best thing you can do as a professional, in other areas as well. I know people who were hired because of a single Medium article that got a lot of traction (and made that person sort of a reference in the indu

I agree, that's why I published the table and anyone can comment (in Notion itself), therefore contribute. I think such a comparison can at the very least spark the discussion you mention.

I appreciate that you specified "pedantically". A whole thread on an inaccurate use of the word "reverse". Oh boy!

A one way function cannot be reversed by definition. I obviously meant finding a set of possible strings that produce that hash and one of them will likely be the image name. "Reverse" wasn't the perfectly accuarate word to u

Obviously I don't mean implementing a function that does f(md5(str)) => str in O(1) but rather performing a dictionary or brute force attack.

I think cases/1M population is a good variable though. Deaths depend on the quality of the healthcare system, number of infected people (per 1M) only by how quickly the virus spreads + number of tested people (assuming the quality of t

The URLs of the images seem to be a combination of a MD5 hash and an ID (changing the ID will produce a different image). I guess the point is that only machines can reverse MD5 to get the actual "image name"?

Well, that's the marketing interpretation of "blockchain", the same way the media use "hacker" nowadays to indicate anyone who breaches an information system. A blockchain is simply a data structure. In git you can

Git uses, in fact, a "blockchain". There's no mining involved (although, given how hard some code reviews can get I'd argue there is still "proof of work" lol) and anyone can create new blocks and is free to ac
