But that's a low-tech solution. Why have a simple solution while you can have a complex one, which sucks as a bonus. Oh, and spies on you.

I observed none of these problems on the distro I use (Linux Mint) so far. I concede that Linux desktops can suck if you are unlucky. But that's the case for Windows as well (I use that daily at work). Every update something changes wh

If even Microsoft can't catch these, why should Mozilla be able to? I am admittedly not in the CI business for frontends but I'd imagine that the combinatorics vastly outnumbers the possibilities of any organization.

I moved all home computers to Linux a while ago and family members do not complain more that they were with Windows. It's more a thing of habit, I believe, as many are grown up with Windows. Both have their quirks and I had a bunch of

I doubt that the situation in Germany is considerably better than in the US. The BND has explicitly being granted the right to snoop at DECIX indiscriminate of the origin. Various groups (eg. laywers) have tried to challenge this and where

As far as I understood the OP is that it shouldn't be the default. If you worry for your government, you should use a VPN anyway (where possible which is the case for UK afaik).

My thought was: Either the person is present and represented or there be no trial. This must not depend on whether presence is hard to achieve. Revoking citizenship or at least leaving persons stateless is not allowed under UN-Charta afaik.

The right to a fair trial should not depend on whether it is practical.

In what way? I am writing this from a Linux desktop. Couldn't be happier. I have to use Windows at work, so it's fair to say I know the difference between the two.

I fully agree with your last two sentences. However, it has come to light that the FAA has handed over almost all oversight to Boeing. Therefore, I wouldn't trust the FAA being either willing or (after a decade of deregulation) even ca

Do you know any authorities using Windows 10 who handle personal data? Last I looked the BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik) hasn't blessed Windows 10 as appropriate over battles with MS on telemetry.

There's no way of verifying that the data shown is identical to the data being sent back. For me Microsoft has become untrustworthy as an OS vendor, enough for me to even scrap my Windows7 installations.
