There are apparently some readers who are abusing the down votes. The hackernews voting system is not a "like" voting system. It is to sort out inappropriate comments and value informative and pertinent comments.

How am I suppose to know there is webGL on this page and that the problem is the iPad and Safari browser ? What I don't understand are the down votes. What is the problem ?

What about users outside of USA ? What is their status ? I have the impression we are not considered to have any rights from the US perspective.

This is an excellent initiative and has the benefit to cast some light and provide visibility on the Y Combinator startups. They will love that. On the other hand the one dimensional ranking is not a good idea because the reality is that th

My impression is that procrastination may have multiple causes. Some of them are fleeing difficulties like overcoming procrastination which is a vicious circle. My perception is also that the first cause of procrastination is fear of X, whe

If you look for a Golang programmer today, it's more likely you'll find a true programmer instead of a me too programmer. So if you're a true programmer, learn Golang. ;)

They didn't stole the boat, they seized it. Not wanting to sign an erroneous legal document is respectable, calling the DHS stealers is clearly not. Don't be surprize if they won't cooperate to solve the matter ASAP.

I don't see how trolling can be stopped. Anyone can add a reply to a new discussion and since the reply can be anything, then trolling is easy and there is no dissuasive pressure on it. What I feel is missing is the possibility to down-vote
