Jenkins's biggest strength is also its biggest weakness: plugins. Any development shop that has been using Jenkins for a while is using at least a bunch of plugins. Plugins are not stable, they break every now and then. They require co

Can someone explain to me why there is an inherent contradiction in that hardware/software keep trying to be faster in crypto computation, while crypto algorithms (like argon2?) keep trying to be harder and harder to run fast?

The most frustrating change for me was FB (or Messenger later) used to send me an email when I received a message, with the message content inside the email. A few years ago they removed the content from the email and forced me to log into

When you click on a particular commit, you see all the files affected by that commit, which can be in the dozens. Now you have to search for the file you're interested in again, click on View file at..., then in there search again for

The use case is to be able to repeatedly blame on the previous revision of the change that was made to a line. This is especially useful when you're dealing with diffs resulted from code formatting, whitespace changes, etc. in a file a

I hate it that Gitlab is focusing too much on all these project-management features, while neglecting the basic code review features such as commenting on a block of code, or making a review session instead of creating individual comments,

It's a shame that Postgres 10 still ships with the abomination that is pgAdmin 4. You don't have a lot of other choices either (the pgAdmin 3 LTS version still throws error left and right when connection to a postgres 10 DB)

Last time I checked, I still couldn't control the max heap free ratio, because apparently that option/flag just doesn't work with Java 8's default GC.

There are always things that people want to customize, and this is where Firefox differs from Chrome. An example is the recent change in Chrome that make the Backspace key no longer go back a page. Chrome just flatly forced users to adapt i

SVG support is a lot better now but it used to be horrible. A few years ago I wrote a simple game in SVG and it would be broken in almost all mobile browsers at the time.

Just like in IE/Edge, the "Do not track" setting used to be enabled by default, then it became disabled by default, and for good reason. The argument is, if it is enabled by default, sites will not bothered to support it sinc
