If you are that unique then obviously you will need to develop your own unique operating system to perfectly get what you want... For me, either Mac or Linux works just fine, no fighting required. I am just not that special.

So how many of those 100 trillion synapses are actually in the part of the brain that does the thinking? Because the brain has different regions (subsystems) responsible for different things.

Or you know, you could stop fighting with your computer/OS/vendor and pick a different OS. No OS brings enough of a difference these days that it’s worth suffering an adversarial relationship with.

Minecraft redstone is a terrible example. The idea of it is great, the implementation, not so much. It's super non obvious for a lot of thing, have got behaviour that changes based on location in the world, etc... It' not uncommon

I was seriously considering abandoning gaming on PC and just using a Nintendo Switch. These days there are so many great indie games that don't require much hardware.

Oh, I am sure I could wrestle Windows into submission if I wanted to. I just don't want to fight with my computer. If Steam was not available on Linux then I would likely still have abandoned Windows and just limited my gaming to whate

I have always used Windows for my gaming PC, but last year when I got a new one I went for Linux. I was just tired of having to constantly reset my settings, remove ads/candy crush from the start menu.

I am guessing that a lot of people who entered the industry since big cloud was a thing never learnt the basics of how to deploy on servers, so these 2000 lines of code are absolutely magic to them. Personally I use a ~200 line shell script

OK, if you don't want to get good at planning as a company, that's fine. It's OK, just please don't pretend that it's impossible. I worked at a startup that did the crazy scaling with physical servers just fine. No

It's easier to massively over provision or use the cloud than it is to get good at capacity planning. Same as how it's easier to use a GC than it is to do manual memory management. They are all valid strategies, the key is picking

Pretty sure "just having a checkbox" is a massively difficult problem when it comes to AI tech and baking it in is much easier.
