So much has been built upon this framework in psychology and decision making that it’s probably work reading Thinking Fast and Slow. Not all of it has survived the replication crisis (in particular some of the experiments on priming) but mu

I feel like I always read reasonable criticism like this and find myself convinced, and then 5 or 10 years later realize that I've missed out on Amazon, Apple, Tesla, Bitcoin, etc. Granted I've probably also saved myself from inve

Inflation as measured by the fed tracks a basket of stuff more like steak than housing. I’ve seen people instead measure how USD tracks against BTC though, which then does become tautologically correct that USD suffers massive “inflation”

I hung around the Polymarket discord channel for awhile and there were very strong believers in the pro Trump narrative. Polymarket whales (Twitter) showed people sinking tens of thousands of dollars in pro Trump bets.

Then after he wasn’t they set up yet another market asking if Trump would be the sitting president in March 2021. It returns 5% or so in only a few short months.

If you value stocks based on book value + dividends and discounted cash flow, this bubble's been going on for almost a hundred years by now. We've just gotten used to the new multiples.

Yea but that’s what people thought at 100, 1000, and 10000 too. A lot of people dismiss the possibility of a 10x rise in price and fixate on the 2x reduction. That kind of pessimism is hardwired in: humans have stronger loss aversion. But i
