This will be an interesting experiment to see to what extent people use social media as a news aggregator vs for its supposed purpose of keeping up with friends. I also have hopes that news media will be able to invest in higher quality journalism if they're not fighting for clicks on these sites. Maybe they can even start to build monthly revenue from subscriptions again.
