As much as the Boox is great, they have a lot of GPL issues. Plus the kernel they are using is very very closed sourced. Sounds like FUD, but I am generally quite wary of companies in China that do this

my shitty ass blog uses as much energy as it would take to send a tesla from sydney to canberra and back. That's honestly somewhat whelming. How do I go from emiting 0.40g of CO2 to 0.02... ? Edit: Hah my twitter page emits more carbon

The most extreme was a Nokia E66 with PuTTy. I was on a flight for a holiday and then the real time bidding system we had running was erroring out. I knew where the bug was (proper fix was a TODO), and I had to fix the service before boardi

When I grew up (in Malaysia) our high schools were like that: split into two general streams - arts/humanities streams and STEM streams. The problem was there is a glamour to the STEM streams and so parents pushed kids towards that. If

A dirty trick that is used all the time but goes unnoticed is concretizing abstract thoughts. The entirety of abstract maths is just that. Let me provide an example: You've got some abstract concepts of relationships. How do you go aro

I've heard it best as: both Ocaml and Haskell are pure functional languages. Haskell is Extra Virgin. That said, the notion of purity is a bit BS. At some point in your program you are definitely going to invoke the world-at-large. Whe

Mine's GNU Emacs 27.0.91 (build 1). Thinking of switching to gccemacs for the native elisp goodness. But way too much yak shaving has been done already. I just disabled lsp-ui and lsp-company and all good.
