When I wrote EyeMap, it turned out humans blinked a lot more than I had anticipated. It wasn't much later until EyeMap had been shuttered before I read that same book. What I did was basically ignore the 5 or so frames where the eye wa

You don't need deep learning. Seriously. Not everything in the world needs deep learning. I wrote an eyetracking system for tracking my vision while playing mobile games[0], and really, the eye-tracking is quite simple and you can do i

This is not quite related to Docker/Kubernetes, but a phrase in the article triggered memories about a very good book that I think everyone should read - The Box by Marc Levinson. It really is a fascinating book.

The prices seem a bit low for 2016. A pastry shop I frequent (not really frequently given my family went low-carbish a few years ago) had their eclairs go from $4.50 to $8 in over the past 5-6 years. :S. Granted they also became a lot more

We impart our bias on ML algorithms by choosing what data to use to train the AI on. The problem, I think is one of self-selection. Consider two hypothetical social networking websites - Friendface and FaceSpace. Friendface's userbase

I'm doing that. Database queries are (relatively) expensive actions in what I'm doing, and reinforcement learning sorta cuts down on the amount of db querying that my NLP program does. Way too much time is spent finetuning it, and
