To clarify for those that may have missed it - These satellites mimic 5G so most existing 5G phones should be compatible without additional hardware. The beams are REALLY low bandwidth (7MB per beam and the beams are “very big”), and that b

Why is it still possible to do when it’s been done I think 2 other times? How crazy that there’s not like a limit or some kind of basic check to prevent the upload or something? Honestly at this point it seems to be a failure on NPM’s part.

Are you for free speech or against it? Where is the line drawn? These are hard questions to answer, especially in the manner they were "asked." And it's probably not exclusively up to Gay to decide & answer them.

Why do you think universities are more politically active? They have always been a safe-haven for ideas that go against the fray. I would argue they have always been "politically active."

How Harvard handles it is up to them. They're a private university. If they choose to stand behind Gay then that's their and their student's choice. Nothing about this scandal was public until they were brought in front of co

It's sad that this is this even a national topic of discussion instead of an internal investigation and change at the university itself.

The plagiarism is really unacceptable, but the political pressure targeting academia makes me sad. IMO this really should have been handled internally at Harvard - not on a national stage.

Same fate with OnLive before it, which was super cool back in the day. Only Microsoft & NVIDIA have been able to build successful products out of cloud gaming but even then Microsoft doesn’t just sell the cloud part separately. Not sure

Ok, that's fair. But what should Apple do in response? If they did not break it the first time, Beeper would be making $2-3/month off of their services. It would have also shown that Apple's platform isn't as secure as t

I’m just not sure what your point is? That beeper should just be allowed to do this, just because they wanted to? I don’t have a dog in this fight. I’m an Apple user and I don’t really use iMessage deep enough to have issues talking to Andr

Beeper could have come up with a new messaging app for iOS. They didn’t have to reverse-engineer iMessage.

There’s a ton of open protocols that could have been the messaging standard. But beeper took a always-closed protocol and tried to open it. I’m not in support of Apple here but it’s pretty obvious which way this would go.

The US uses SMS/MMS, that won’t change. SMS has limitations, which is why iMessage and RCS were created. When newer functionality is used, the experience between Android and iOS is poor - like poor media quality or stickers not appeari

I’ve been pretty happy with Xerox laser printers. If I was going inkjet I would probably look into those Epson Ecotank ones, but knowing how infrequently I use my inkjet today the nozzles would probably dry out in-between prints!

Do you get the core concept of vertical farming? It’s just stacked layers of farmland. Greenhouses cannot pack as many layers vertically. It’s pretty straight-forward. If you’re strictly optimizing for just sunlight then sure, greenhouses s

Yes this is how new developments occur. First it’s prohibitively expensive and then we figure out ways to reduce the costs/waste/etc. This is in its infancy and I’m sure it’ll make more sense as it develops more.
