The point of vertical farming is that land is scarce (particularly in cities) and the idea is to reduce the footprint of the farms. So yeah, of course what you’re suggesting works since it already works today…

Well according to that math you have influence over half of the things you should be concerned about, which is not bad at all! So get on changing the world! :D

There actually was a mandate for government work in the past with Ada. This is not a mandate. Even that mandate did not appear to fundamentally change the landscape beyond government work.

Who would you want these recommendations to come from? There's nothing wrong with a recommendation to use open, auditable tools. Be skeptical, but also I would expect this message to come from them.

Oh boy... Nothing is mandated here. These are just suggestions from experts. Don't take them if you don't want to.

I think we can commend their efforts and call out their entitled messaging at the same time. These are not mutually exclusive.

I don't think the parent is that concerned with Android <-> Apple communications with that statement. Reverse-engineering a closed protocol and distributing an Apple Binary (IIRC correctly) are a bit more than just "implemen

As someone in the industry my experience was sudden insanely high shipping & container costs and an inability to get stuff out of port while storage fees added up. Of course prices for goods had to increase to support these sudden expen

That’s great, thanks for the link there. Seems plausible enough to fill in the blanks.

She specifically declines in the article to provide the additional context that would probably clarify everything. This is just more non-answers and only a tad more information than we had before (threats of violating a fiduciary duty). Nob

Of course this was voted down, come on guys. I love Steam as well and buy quite a bit of games on there but you can't act like they're not one-in-the-same. Just a quick Google will show you others that have had their accounts lock

I use HomeBridge but have also been noticing connectivity issues recently. Just ordered two of those Ratgdo devices, thanks. Sounds like a better solution anyway.

I think Google Domains was the second cheapest option last I looked but we know how that ended up going... Glad I didn't migrate there!

That's unfortunate :/, good to know. I wonder why their name keeps coming up here? Just because they're so large? If anyone is looking for an alternative, CloudFlare domains are super cheap!

I was wondering why these were selling out like that… I see gold for sale occasionally @ spot price but I’m not personally interested. But with the 4% you mention it makes a lot more sense.

I liked her take. Maybe AI will continue to improve to the point that it understands some of the literary devices she mentions but it’s like anything AI generates so far - devoid of soul.
