They use to do that. The problem is that it makes less sense in a digital world because you want a single URI to consolidate shares and SEO. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Print_syndication

> Women want to be with AND to be impregnated by the top 20%. If they realize that longer-term relationships are bogus anyway Have you run that idea past a woman?

It was an odd market niche. Only dry packaged groceries so I couldn't go "grocery shopping", but also could not be combined with my Fresh order. The limited selection and lack of a price benefit meant it wasn't worth the

Can we stop trying to shoehorn every worker into the model used for 20th century factories? We're the only country that depends on employers for health care and not every job is going to be 40 hours with one employer. The question isn&

Just like a woman walking down the street getting far more attention than men do. The only difference online is that it’s more quantifiable.

Because non-public startups don’t grow at all costs and hire too many people? You’re attributing things to public companies that any company can do or not.

Yep, age is a big factor here. The gender ratio reaches parity around age 40[1]. After that there's more women than men. The point being that gender ratio is not a viable explanation for incel communities. [1] https://www.ce

They don't need to use bots. Pretty much every dating app gives new users an initial boost in visibility to get them hooked. Each app has its own demographic that I've noticed can change in different cities. Last I was using these

So employees can buy houses and achieve other normal financial goals. So those of us that are not VCs or Bumble employees can own a piece. They're transitioning out of a model where investor money subsidized our dating lives. That mean

America, like most countries, has slightly more women than men (51.1%). The "incel" phenomenon seems more about men that don't know how to have a healthy relationship with a women. Ironically, the term "incel" was c

Plaid has ~500 employees with normal lives and financial goals. There are start-ups out there with a real chance to change the world, but I think it gets over played as a form of recruiting and media strategy.

I think this is over played because the articles get views. First the Bay was in trouble because everyone is going to work from Tahoe and Iowa. Then tech companies continued to lease new office space so we've got to have a different do

Small, family run hostels in China manage to figure it out. AirBnBs in middle income countries operate much more like hotels than the empty apartments they're known for in the US and Europe.

I wish I remembered. What I'm referring to, though, is that income and cap gains tax things based on the amount of money being made. A transfer tax says, "oh, the owner change - here's the same tax for a money losing project

I think you're focusing on where the money goes. That doesn't change the fact that this is a uniquely bad way to raise it. Transfer taxes are not like capital gains or income taxes. There is no value being created when something i

Landowners are a minority in the city. The divide is deeper than just property values because 100% BMR units are obstructed the same way.

It's dis-incentivizing future growth to make up for people and companies that barely pay any tax at all. The only thing this subsidizes are long time land owners.

Prop 13 is fucking horrible. We can't blame it for everything, though. It doesn't stop SF from zoning for more residential units or allowing the existing ones to be subdivided. All of those new units pay full freight.

I've seen people take that position and I see a fundamental mistake. Look at rust belt cities. Look at NYC in the 70s. When employers leave the people left behind are not better off. This doesn't mean we need to kiss big tech ass,

I'd be curious what you think about Scala 3. Interoperability with Scala 2 and Java solves the library problem. And the language itself seems to really take on learnings from its own history and other modern languages.

That's the status quo. People avoid moving because buying a house worth the same amount means paying far higher taxes. At least with paying taxes on a sale then everyone is paying their fair share. It also reduces the incentive to vote
