Teams/Slack don't show ads. With all the meme generator/hosting options I can't figure out what the anti-trust argument is here. Seems like people are so mad at Meta they couldn't acquire a dog walking business.

Check the financial health of the company you're looking at. Are they profitable with positive cash flow? Microsoft had mountains of money coming in the door. One of the downsides of the American system is that a successful company cha

I'm surprised keyboard shortcuts are not more normal in b2b web apps for this exact reason. There's no technical limitation. Bloomberg probably has the most profitable "terminal" UI, supports the same keyboard shortcuts

Does going to the office feel Segway-ish? This is the same problem as an in person meeting.

> The benefits of serverless are two-fold: > You only pay for what you use—just those 10 seconds if that’s all that’s happening on your app. > You don’t have to worry about all the DevOps side of servers. No planning, no management

Ironically, there's laws restricting US Gov access to data in the US, but no such restrictions on hacking foreign networks.

I recently download apps to a new iPhone and every App Store search result had a TikTok ad above the app I had searched for by name. That can't be cheap!

I recently grabbed a CSS framework that would take care of 95% of the styling I need for a prototype. Half of the reason for selecting Bulma is that it looks slightly different than Bootstrap. The same complaint applies, but I just want to

I'd settle for the CoffeeScript of Go. Keep most of it, add sum types, expand generics, and replace nil with options. If you're feeling spicy, make whitespace significant.

That's an interesting point about service workers. My thinking is to layer them in the other order: the generated types are based on Go struct json tags so the function signatures I'm calling could be implemented as REST calls. ie

I've been work on a proof of concept with Wails and it's a productive development loop. The only thing different about the front end code vs a website is that it calls functions generated from my Go back end (fully typed!) instead

It's generally good to encode these decisions in law rather than hand police even more discretion... but I 100% agree with you on Dean Preston and Hillary Ronin. They weaponize progressive language to preserve the status quo.
