QC20i. I'd like to think I'm unlucky. Also, like I said, I wear them in my sleep and the cords are contorted in the morning. But I can't live without them now, so if I have to I'll pay for a new pair every year. I'd

I'm on my third pair of Bose QC now. Somehow I keep breaking them (noise cancelling stopped working, twice). Maybe it's because I sleep with them on and contort the cords? I also wish the design was a bit easier on the hands. Desp

Not much to contribute here as the page's very informative. Elm's record is the best typed record implementation I've encountered so far. It's what I've always wanted for JS object, but typed!

Is manual resource management with linear types a must? Because that's a big bummer. Also how is that compare to Rust? If it's not, is it possible to incorporate it into an existing language with e.g. HM types?

Amateur question: how are linear types in "practice"? How much of concurrency do they solve? And how are they different from modern HM types? Sorry for being vague. I'm interested in this subject but layman materials on it ar

How does Perl's bound check work? If it's compile time then wouldn't you need some form of dependent types?

Let me present another reason for minifying that this thread doesn't seem to present. In React's codebase, we spread around lots of helpful warnings (those warnings are one of React's less spoken niceties), which goes through

Listing complexity doesn't really help here. There's a huge difference in practical complexity than the theoretical one. Saying that "insert" has log(n) complexity is misleading when you realize the branching factor is 3

As of today, Babel turns arrow down to normal anonymous function, and wires up the `this` inside if there's any. So if you compile through Babel (and we'll probably keep compiling for another while) there's no overhead.

Dan Abramov is a very knowledgeable React person, so it's not just random finger wagging. It's a shared sentiment in the React development team. Virtual DOM didn't enable React's component composition. Unidirectional dat

By this reasoning, functional programming is only the "method" in OOP. Surely that means OOP is a necessarily fuller abstraction? React gives you a powerful V that expresses things so intuitively that for most cases it eschews the
