On the flipside, then you have to maintain instances of everything. For most of what I run these days, I'd rather just have someone else run and administer my database. Same with my load balancers. And my Kubernetes cluster. I don'

Quite expensive to build though. Many of these companies don't have the sharpest engineers building multi-cloud. IMO, going multi AZ or multi-cloud adds a good amount of complexity. TBH I don't care if last.fm doesn't work fo

Can you expand here? What are you looking for in specific? I think I have a framework-like TV. It's a high end TV set to store mode which has no smartOS annoyances. From there, I have expansion modules (they connect via HDMI) like a HD

Sure, but fediverse numbers are pitiful at this point. Reality is that 99.9% of users don't care about decentralization, so it ends up being a "this has to work as well as a centralized system" does.

Even then, Samsung lags hard in the tablet space. IMO there is kinda only one option... an iPad. It's an order of magnitude better than anything else out there. And that's coming from someone who doesn't really like Apple pro

For OpenAI at least, it's obvious. They are considered the industry leader at this point and are the most widely used LLM that folks are aware of (arguably, Google's 'in search' summarization is the most widely used). Pe

You're talking about charging... monthly? With a system that gives clear warnings early that you're low on battery? I'm already charging my GPS, headphones, bike lights, etc. regularly. This has been an absolute non-issue to

To me, it's night and day. Cables stretch, need replacement (yearly or every 2 in my case), and mechanical shifting requires more effort. Di2 is literally 'mouse click' with little electric components that _instantly_ shift.

I love Framework but it's still not enough IMO. My time is the most valuable thing, and a subscription to $paid_llm_of_choice is _cheap_ relative to my time spent working. In my experience, something Llama 3.3 works really well for sma

As a backend dev who owns a few internal crappy frontends, LLMs have been the best thing ever. Code quality isn't the top priority, I just need to plumb some data to an internal page at BigCorp.

Did people actually think "we've added AI" was a selling point for the new flagships? Felt like the most obvious "CEO says we need to do this, doesn't matter if it isn't ready" kinda thing. Straight up che

IMO this is a reductionist take that is often peddled around Reddit. "Anybody can climb Everest, it's not that difficult", etc. Personally? I think it's a pretty cool achievement and is _the_ mountain to climb for a reas
