Amazon literally _banned_ php for a reason. Don't get me wrong, PHP taught me a ton about programming and was a very important language, but yeah...

IMO, to some extent yes. Just like they'd be 'kept out of the loop' in many other cases for not having the best communication. It's not inherently fair but I don't know how to solve that problem either.

So, a sizable portion of Indians and Chinese folks? Many Indians have spoken english most of their lives, but definitely tons of Chinese (and other) devs where ESL is a very real thing.

The whole IoT thing just goes to show how... unique many people on HN are. I get it, it's a risk, etc. but IMO the convenience is massive. I do the same as you do, its a bit more work but it works fine for my use case. Use reputable pr

Depends on the digital product, but usually you're looking at something like a license key and DRM. If someone is determined enough, they _will_ distribute thousands of copies of it though.

Asterisk = read the fine print... That to me is super deceptive. Tell me the acutal price of the car that I'm going to pay. Hell, include a rebate if I'm gonna get it in the next year. But gas savings over life of the vehicle is a

Highly recommend checking out hop tea/hop seltzers. Lagunitas makes a good one with distro across the nation. Stillwater makes some (alcoholic) seltzers with dry hopping as well that I'm a huge fan of. Those have been my favorite

Most things damage your body in some way, shape, or form. Obviously the best solution is to not drink, but IMO it's not a great alternative. Something like what you mentioned at the end makes more sense.

Can they actually go after any of these entities? Seems like at this point it's pretty trivial to set up a website which proxies manifest files and injects DRM keys directly... Good luck, but I'd assume these folks are all in non

I use privacy too but I generally don't bother for most use cases because I want the CC rewards. Chase has been fine whenever someone is scummy to me, which has rarely happened. Any sort of trial though, 100% of the time.

Legal age of consent isn't the same as being moral. These are two separate things. Nobody is saying we should 'cancel' Canada for having bad laws in the past. IMO this is a really weak argument.
