A very nice writeup on the subject. I wasn't aware that this functionality is the oft-touted 'deeplinking' I hear of so much.

The only constant at job interviews for me is the question: "So you majored in music...Why programming?" As time goes on it becomes more and more irritating to respond to that question, although I suppose given someone's resu

Looks at big stack of C64 hardware in the corner and shifts uncomfortably I'm reading Kondo's book right now, and at first I thought it was going to be a wash for me, but her criterion for keeping or discarding things is actuall

An interesting read. Hopefully I'll remember to keep an eye out for symmetries between branding, culture and product in the future. It would be fun to find and document more instances of such symmetries, especially with respect to trou

I agree that Curtis' arguments are often articulated in such a way as to make them easy to debunk or dismiss, however I think the germ of his arguments often highlight interesting or compelling ideas. I suspect that many others comment

Not sure why this is being downvoted - diluting the meaning of 'harassment' could have very unfortunate consequences for both victims of REAL harassment as well as the general usefulness of social media. It seems reasonable peopl

This DBMS sounds interesting, but a quick search of the organization's repos on github and I couldn't figure out which one actually represents the core DBMS itself.

I found it insulting, frankly. Its as though the author is suggesting some sort of connection between the events and their business decision, or that the business decision is some sort of substantive attempt to fight injustice. On the upsid

As an early backer of the project and fan of paniq's, I'm happy to let he and his wife go off on tangents like this, because I know whatever they build is going to be awesome. Of course, most backers are probably not as pumped abo

Thank you for posting this. As someone who has dealt with crippling Major Depressive Disorder for over half of my 30 years so far, and who would not be alive without SSRIs, these kinds of misunderstandings on the topic of depression are gra

As an entirely self-taught programmer, I say skip these programs entirely. When I got my first real programming gig, my company sent me to a quick, 7-or-8 session long bootcamp for rails, although I'd already taught myself all the rail

As a premium user who has gotten a ton of mileage out of Synergy, I totally support this - keeping this software up to date and easy to use while improving its utility for complex computing setups can't be easy, and I don't know w

I could be misinformed, but it sounds like what OKCupid did was an extreme form of A/B testing - at least, that is how they defended the 'experiment' during an interview on NPR's TL,DR. If this is the case, this could se

You didn't read far enough into the article - the author took a bunch of inflammatory comments actually directed at a man involved with legislating against violent games and transposed them to use female pronouns.

Very cool stuff. Might I suggest adding a small link to a brief tutorial on reactive streams at the top of the page? Add that and even someone who has no concept of reactive can grok the basics in no time!
