I'm not sure I understand this. Isn't web3 mostly just the use of decentralized systems? You don't need crypto for that. If your answer is incentive, I'm not so sure you need that either. For example, if you want to sto

A big problem right now in biology is the framing of these fundamentals in education. We know some things, but they're typically presented fairly piecewise in higher education. One example of the fragmentation: You're in an onc

Does anyone know how to get in touch with media outlets to run these stories? I can't help but notice how some of the issues brought up by John Oliver made decent progress after they ran an episode on it. They have an episode on lead,

Unfortunately, even if a company offered this, in today's world the product would likely have a hidden microphone that isn't listed on the featured hardware. Much like the old physical typewriters had spyware hidden on them with

The Stanford lecture by Robert Channing for one of the first courses in chemical engineering (ChE 101?) on youtube is fun for this. He goes through how many of the units are defined and how it has had an effect on various projects throughou

It's especially true for ML in general on HN, but it's generally true for a lot of areas in the public - people often mistake skepticism for expertise or knowledge. I think the phenomenon is similar to the large crowd that crie

That should continue to increase. Hopefully it will be academic misconduct to not release code - but also further, it should be misconduct for the code not to be able to reproduce the paper's output with a one line command.

I wonder how large the democratic deficit would be if the response from any given representative across the country read something a little more like this: "We [insert office] are excited by your interest and have taken your stance int

Doesn't `set -o vi` do this for you? Place it in .bashrc and you're good to go. It's great to use this with awesomewm for windows management, and vimium for browser control. Then you can develop in vim, bash in vim, browse in

What kind of performance can you get with micrograd? It looks to be a few python files (and no external library calls?), so I imagine it's insanely slow . At least with tensirflow/pytorch there are some calls to C in the dependen
