I just tried searching this entire comments page for the string “batman”. Incredibly, there were 0 occurrences. So I'll just add: this sounds kinda like that batman movie where they turned every cellphone in the city into a remote list

I remember reading through David Macaulay's “The Way Things Work” as a kid, soaking up the illustrations until I understood each one. It was life-changing. However, I remember having trouble with one page in particular -- the one descr

I'd like to be able to use something as a universal scripting language. I'd much prefer javascript to something like bash or batch files. Recall the “Joel test”. http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/fog00000

That's probably best addressed by the “security considerations” section of the JWT spec: https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-oauth-json-web-token-... My short answer to “How secure are JSON Web Tokens?”, though

I have a compulsion to remove the unclean crap at the ends of urls that seem to be for somebody else's benefit besides my own. Query strings usually, with various tracking ids or unnecessary preferences. It bothers me when that stuff i

For me the point is that inserting the word “just” is diminishing or belittling the person's contribution, even as you are asking them to make that contribution.

Agreed. A while ago I went back and read a bunch of news stories from the 90s about similar battles, and Wyden was playing more or less the same role in those stories too. I'm happy to say that one of my state's two senators, Mark

A designer I worked with had lots of interesting stuff taped to his door, and rotated it regularly. My favorite was probably the following: “Can you just...” no.

The “Knowledge Maps” used by sites like Kahn Academy [1] strike me as immensely helpful in deciding what to teach someone next, given what they've already learned. I think it would be cool to replace the one-size-fits-all required read
