I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees it that way. I used ebay to give things that I don't want to someone that does. Any money I made was to pay for the hassle of it. I saw it as getting paid for recycling.

That's more elaborate than I had. In my case, they won my item a few times in a row and sent fake paypal payment emails. When you're keen to sell the item, waiting for a week only to have a scammer win the auction gets tiring.

I decided to not sell a macbook on ebay after I listed it and had a number of fraudulent buyers win auctions and not pay (while sending me fake paypal emails). I sold the laptop to a friend instead. I find the ebay seller fees pretty offens

I find Reeder for iOS to be exemplary in terms of UX. I use inoreader to sync the state and find it to work well as a tool for that. I get everything I can in there. Email newsletters, hacker news etc are all in here to save my inbox.

Sad to see such a negative reaction here. We have something similar internally - we call them personal user manuals. They explain how we like to work (e.g. communication preferences), and a little bit about ourselves. We ask new joiners to

Personally I’ve found using ‘private’ web APIs to be a bit of a mixed blessing. Having side projects break with no notice is very frustrating, at the same time they’re a huge improvement on scraping for ad-hoc tasks.

Notion has HTML as well as CSV+Md. I export once a month and it appears to work ok.

Kubernetes provides a standard way to deploy applications. If I’m familiar with deploying applications on Kubernetes at work, why not have the same for my side projects at home?

> if you're looking for something to run your home services long term, I would recommend not using Kubernetes If we disregard one’s experience with Kubernetes as a factor, are there any other reasons you see to not use k8s at home?

I use dynamic DNS with my Edgemax router. Something like inlets operator or cloudflare Argo are other options.

It might be good to clarify your expected users. Most Kubernetes users I have worked with integrated with some cloud provider auth or similar to grant permissions to Kubernetes resources. I can see this being useful for smaller deployments

This seems overly dramatic calling it the last proper free tier. Cloud Run has a free tier is mostly comparable.

I'm also seeing issues with GCE and GCS. Getting permissions errors and timeouts. GKE cluster API endpoints have high error rates or timeouts too. "Multiple services reporting issues" on https://status.cloud.google

I use rclone to sync my drive to backblaze b2 daily. This runs in my personal cluster as a CronJob. The initial egress cost was steep but i’m not generating 100s of GB a month. I download takeouts once a month and store them in drive to cov

Thanks for getting back to me, I’d make it clearer it’s a series given the title. Specifically relating to the mood and confidence calendar idea, what benefits have you experienced?

I guess this is first in a series? I quite like the idea of the calendar, hadn’t come across that before. Has anyone used it and found it works?

I think if you didn't use it as a phone too that wouldn't make much sense to me. Whether you want a DLSR, range finder, travel compact... I can think of various models that would be better standalone cameras. X100F, rx100 series,
