I'm glad I moved over to Mac. I know it's not perfect, but it's much better than Windows. They seem determined to lose customers. I really like the concept of the Surface Book and got one several years ago. The keyboard no lo

This is an interesting take. I currently live in an area where my rent is about 35% cheaper than taking out a mortgage at the current interest rates.

Agreed. Getting a Master's should be part of a well defined plan, not a "I don't what else to do and the economy is bad so I should stay in school for a few more years to pass the time" deal.

This is a huge bet and it's going to further increase their student debt. If it doesn't pay off, they'll be much worse off than just moving back home with their parents and trying to say, start a business or freelance.

If this happened to me, joke would be on them, I'm grandfathered in with no credit card details attached to my file. Still, I had a mild panic attack reading this and am now thinking I shouldn't use them anymore.

I'm stuck on this exact same problem. I want to code, but no longer want to do it for the sake of learning. I'll happily code for something that will get me true ROI, but haven't found what to dedicate my time to. I've r

I've found this out the hard way. I don't drink caffeine on days with meetings or drink it after the meetings end and it really helps with anxiety. I've also started drinking decaf on some days and there's at least 1 day

Most devs I've worked in across multiple languages don't use debuggers. They can't be bothered to spend a couple hours figuring it how to configure one. Meh, to each their own. I always spend the time configuring one and it a

That one online help company got hacked, so even assuming they aren't malicious, having all that personal psych data under one roof makes them a juicy target.

Those typing advantages are getting much better with the latest versions of PHP. Sure, it's not like .net, but close enough. The advantage of something like PHP is that I can prototype something quickly without the language getting in

On the flipside, it takes way longer to get things done on .net. There should be a balance here, but it's not going to happen. There will always be a fair amount of users installing packages for everything.

It's not about ease, it's about frequency of use. If it's used often, it should be in a stdlib.

By definition, the only languages where this isn't true are languages that have a high barrier to entry, and because of that, they would also be unpopular. Perhaps if the goverment mandated a standard set of programming tools....

Yes, but why? I have an entry level Kawi and it gets about 60MPG, which is already higher than most cars. Motorcycles already accelerate pretty quickly, so the electric drivetrain doesn't offer a lot there. I can see this making more s

The $100 developer fee is very annoying, but understand it's there to add a small barrier to entry. It makes people think twice about whether they really want to launch an app on the app store and therefore stops many users from publis
