We're talking about someone who's trying to get more info about the reason why they've been put into jail. Possibly because it would help their case. The agency basically decided on an ultimatum. And no, lawyers won't al

Heh, yeah, good. Similarly, Chicago Police Department has denied FOIA requests of people in jail because they claim they'd have to provide the records as a CD.. arguing that the CD could be used as a weapon.

Oh it totally is. But with the number of people in this thread (and past threads) talking about how nice this is, "all it needs is.." and such, it's not unwarranted to call out the system's obvious absurdity.

I think this is the main ruleset: https://github.com/rowanmanning/joblint/blob/master/lib/rule... There's such a striking lack of racist/homophobic rules that I'm almost willing to be

Wrote a tweet-fitting one-liner that downloads every csv-like file from every government open data portal that's public on Socrata. Gave me a fun reason to play with FIFO files to do makeshift recursion. mkfifo f;echo \0>f&x

This is great, but please let us use it without vocals! I mostly listen to instrumental, so this was unexpectedly jarring. Even adding "instrument" generates vocals, and the vocals aren't exactly great for the music styles

Yeah. And the system that's used to track the parking tickets by the city, CANVAS (IBM), cost the city over 100 million dollars alone. Currently suing for the system's database schema and our oral arguments are being brought to th

Of course, but when you stretch the truth, you lose the message and lose the people you need to reach the most. To me, that sort of truth stretching is way colder than I could ever be.

Streetsblog has a tendency to use infrequent/irrelevant traffic deaths and such to paint pictures about wider things. Things like, using hit and runs at stop signs to argue about speed limits. They did that a lot in Chicago when the ci

Good point. Wondering now if there'd be a way to walk backwards from the modeled audio to a full physics simulation of the spoken words. Thanks for the link!

Possibly weird question, but have there been any attempts at modeling this sort audio model specifically where tokens aren't defined by its audio, but instead by the movement of the tongue/mouth/lips/vocal chords, etc?
