Combining both powershell and unix is neat!

Heh, right when this started, Windows 11 started freaking out and blacking out my screen every 3s or so. Had to reboot to fix it! Definitely possible it wasn't this outage, but....

Hah, neat. Had a similar idea long long ago. Wanted to run it against the show, Friends, to model the object interactions against text to speech results against a transcript. The idea was to create a speech to text slash plot generator usin

Let me rephrase that -- is it good enough to use 100% of the time you're in a terminal? Cause that's what I do with tmux and it works phenomenally. Haven't had a similarly good experience with screen before, but I'm open

shpool doesn't allow splitting screens either! But I guess in my head, screen is largely for resuming a shell connection on a remote host while tmux is a window splitter.

Or use GDB to change stdin/stdout of the nohup'd process to the current shell!

This is more of a `screen` replacement than a `tmux` replacement, yeah? Was hopeful for an actual replacement (no, not iterm) to tmux.

I'm not sure what your comment is digging at. Are you asking me to give you examples where the wrong data was leaked through FOIA? Because if so, -- https://mchap.io/that-time-the-city-of-seattle-accidentally-... It&#x

Does it though? You weren't able to find statistics of the adoptions you mentioned ;) Sure, WE can exercise good browsing hygiene... but what about someone who's the victim of domestic violence and don't have that option? O

Okay then, why focus on major sites? Surely we should care about minor sites as well..?

It's easier in that it's just an email and will probably be free. It's harder because it couldn't be a targeted attack and would need to rely on the failure of the people handling the request. But failures happen... cons

Yes, that is what FOIA is. I've submitted probably over 3k requests and, well, you're WAY simplifying the extent of the issues and the dynamics of these things. For example -- is your neighbor's email address suddenly public

My prediction of municipal broadband is that someone down the line is going to submit a FOIA request for their neighbor's internet history and the municipality will accidentally fulfill the request in violation of the law. Or leak many

Indeed. Having worked in change management for a time and having to use change management software at larger companies... fuck. It's all so bad. Slow and buggy because each time you fill out a field, it has to validate it before you ca

My worst nightmare was a semicolon-delimited file. Where one of the columns had hand-typed street names - without quotes.. so "WELLS" was often "WE;;S". Since it was the only column like that, the # of columns to the lef

"Always no"? What. Really not sure what you mean here when you agree that the possibility of it working exists. I get the sentiment -- when I request data through FOIA, I will almost always request it as "an excel format"

Let’s switch tracks for a second. Have you ever noticed how at a job, not having enough work produces a different (and usually worse) state of misery than having too much? Join a non-profit and a lot of these problems go away :)
