I'm generally a pretty big fan of remote work. I think it reduces overhead, can increase productivity for the right person/teams, and ultimately frees up time for the employee which they return in kind to their employer. Congress is not a

Thanks for the book recommendation. I went to buy it off of Amazon and got a reminder of just how screwed up the book publishing market is screwed up. The electronic version is almost $3.00 (22%) more than the paperback.

Woah, the hackernews effect is quite impressive. The github project more than doubled in stars (now at 280) over the past 6 hours since posting this.

Thanks, I appreciate the heads up. I prefer the Vundle style approach personally but options are always great :)

I'm in no way affiliated with the project. I just thought it needed some more attention because it is awesome.

Thats some pretty impressive stuff. I would suggest changing your site name though, it seems a bit spamish (I almost didn't go for that reason).

Before I go off on this tangent: I own a license to ST2 but use VIM. I have no intention of buying ST3 and thus have no skin in the game. Blog posts like these are interesting but do they really belong on Hacker News? Why wouldn't th

It's a hindrance for us but I understand why it's there. For starters, it weeds out vaporware rather quickly.

Beh, I think the purpose of the API call still stands. Besides, I don't think windows has curl so non-techies could get stuck on that if they didn't want to dig.

You're welcome! Re:price I guess for me the current pricing structure is a bit more vague. I get that knowing how much I'll be billed before I hit the button is a good thing but I don't really know what I'll get in terms of quality or quant

I honestly don't know. My guess would be no, for two reasons. GPU vs. CPU; GPUs are much better at the number crunching needed in producing the hashes ("mining"). I doubt very seriously that you can get the kind horsepower out of a vm. I co

The reason more people don't do it is because: A) it's difficult. Since the vast majority of miners didn't get in early, they weren't able to get in on the "gold rush" that enabled them to ramp up hardware in accordance with their output. W
