In the US most freelancers have their own LLC and technically that company is contracted and pays them as an employee to do the work. Not sure what the equivalent in UK is, but that's maybe what these companies are looking for? TLDR be

Business owners don't give a single flying expletive if you tip their workers. Stopping tipping would probably not even be something they notice, except in the context of someone saying "hey boss, people stopped tipping us"
