That's the whole point the linked post makes--they wish it were easier to make that happen. Updates represent labor. It's fair to ask users to pay for that labor.

I agree with all of this, but isn't it possible to charge for updates via an in app purchase?

I already use it! When I say neat, I mean it in the abstract. Or maybe in the "Bender taking a picture" sense.

Sure, great. Good. But without the followup call to action, "... and you should too," this is just self-congratulatory behavior. Don't just clap, follow this guy's lead.

It's completely possible to achieve the same connection with a git repo of simple markdown files if you make sure: * each file has a descriptive name that starts with an iso date * each file is on a specific topic or idea * you are usi

It's functionally equivalent to a sporting event in terms of crowds and space usage. A large group of people gather to observe something on a regularly scheduled basis. It even has more important events that typically draw larger crowd

A lot of people don't directly see that. For example if you rent in NYC, you have probably never seen how much water you consume, because the landlord pays the water bill. You might not even directly pay some other utilities like heat

I'm a designer and I'm very pro system fonts. Then again I don't work for a company with a typography-related identity like NYT or WSJ. For them it's a lot more important, at least in theory. But if you make like, a prod

It's so hard to take a site with serif fonts seriously. It would be worth the 8th css declaration if the author added `font-family: sans-serif;`.
