Don't know how it works with local laws, but as far as I know, they could ,(doubt they would) repossess. Nevertheless, they would auction, take the 2% remaining, plus their admittedly ridiculous fees, and pay you back the rest. Not tha

Using views is a good practice anyway as you do not tightly couple your API to your schema. It's been a few years since I used Postgrest (and to be fair I had no write scenarios to cover) but I do not remember it limiting what security

60 years is not long in discussions of historical nature. You routinely see countries hating each other for something that happened >200years ago.

Maybe it’s just my way of thinking, but the best stories to tell in an interview are not the ones that describe a work related incident. It is the story that links something irrelevant but deeply relatable with a concept to make an unexpect

Just guessing with no background experience on windmill, maybe to support reactive workflows. Airflow does not have a good proposition on that front. Sensors are a workaround and not performant.

A pet peeve of mine, as someone who has been in the BI domain for a few years. There is no such thing as data driven decisions. What is there, is decision driven data, i.e. what you monitor indicates your desired decision making toolset. Th

I am assuming the GP also implies taxation on the value claimed for the patent. Tangentially, I would also love the equivalent option the other way around, I.e. in property taxation, where the government decides the value of the property, t

My gripe is that, if a robot does something, it is not post truth, it is actual, real, truth. We should not confuse discourse on truth with discourse on identity.

Musicians write for other musicians. Coders use the best data structure to solve a problem not for the users but for another coder to appreciate. You weigh praise on the merits of the judge to do the judgement. People in the end listen to t

Great feature but also a very dangerous one. Few cases of people sharing a spreadsheet with an innocuous summary pivot table, not realising they also, in the process, share the full dataset that supports the pivot with sensitive data.

ugly is an aesthetic and it communicates, when intentional, a focus on function or simplicity rather than looks. Now to your point, ugly in anything more than a css stylesheet is a little bit moot as it is an aesthetic that remains superfic

The article is quite thorough and I enjoyed it as it reminded me of my forays in the domain. One nook in this domain, I never managed to investigate in the depth I would like is the Kinetic Rules Language [0] which makes the connection to c

I think your argument is correct with the assumption that houses should be considered investment. I don't think they should, but realise that this statement is only articulated in principle rather than in practical and pragmatic terms.

This is an allowed practice, just not idiomatic, mostly following on Erlang convention I think. If you do the coding gnome elixir course, he quite explicitly has a section on this and proceeds with separating API from server. At the end of

Exactly this. Is this a way to pass the cost of the WGA/SAG negotiation to consumers? It sounds like it, and it might even make sense as such. The challenge is that the cost is passed while content is not generated, so as consumer the

I would question your third point in the spirit of doubting narratives. This is the podcasters' narrative, but intuitively a podcaster has less scale and therefore is much cheaper to be incentivised towards specific narratives.
