http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_by_deception > Saying that it's rape is really inconsiderate and insulting to the actual rape victims... I'm glad you've apparently surveyed every rape victim and asked them if this law is insulting

It's fine. I apologize for coming off so aggressively. I'm just tired of people literally defending sexual assault, and because of that, I end up making all my replies snappy.

The original article was talking about a woman who was groped and assaulted. To quote the parent: > It sounds like a lot of this stuff happens at bars during events, not at the events themselves. No one started talking about specifica

If you aren't trying to make such a comparison, why did you state that in the first place? It's meaningless to state everyone has it difficult when talking about how a specific group has it a bit more difficult. Yes, men have problems too,

Ah, understood. I would like to see some sort of experiment between using these cards and slapping someone— although, slapping is pretty rare. What happens most of the time is the woman feels incredibly unsafe and awkward while she tries to

Compared to being a woman, it is not difficult to be a guy. I'm not sure how you can look at this article about how so many women get sexually assaulted or harassed at tech conventions and think, "It's so tough being a guy ." Not all wom

"Defending myself" implies the need to be defended. If she slaps you across the cheek due to you groping her, hitting her would not be justified . She wasn't continuously attacking you; she was responding to your assault.

No. These are just a bunch of guys predictably derailing the discussion of how women are harassed at tech conferences with, "But sometimes it's a guy, too! Ergo, we shouldn't get anywhere in this discussion!"

CSS optimization should be the last thing a developer does, if at all. Most of the time, it's not worth it. As a general rule, just be as concise as possible. `.nav ul.actions li a` could be turned into `.actions a` as long as it's alright

I know well of the niche communities in reddit. I frequent most of them to hide myself from the default subs. However, the same problems still exist. For instance, I enjoy the show Adventure Time , so I subscribed to the /r/adventuretime s

I'm not writing from a position of fear. The thought process of rapists is an interesting— albeit chilling— subject to study. My problem was with the responses to the rapists by what appeared to be normal, well-adjusted people: Heavily upvo

I wouldn't say the entire site is useless, but the good communities are few and far between due to the reddit's culture abhorring any sort of moderation. Would you like me to edit my reply to be more specific to /r/AskReddit? Certainly if y

That rapist thread in /r/AskReddit was, next to the time a poor girl was harassed due to a user thinking she faked her assault story, the worst thing I've ever seen on reddit. The direct responses were exactly what the OP had asked, but the

Apparently this isn't obvious, but when you push your repo to Github, you aren't actually handing complete control of it over to them. You can still `git send-email` from your CLI.

I'm sure someone, somewhere has used the concept of privilege to unfairly discredit another person's opinion, but I think you're trying to apply cold, hard reasoning to something that requires deeper thought. Privilege, when used in social

Well, the background of crypto researchers was core to Quinn's "privilege" tweet. That's one of the points the OP author touched on in his response-response, so it was relevant here. And of course it's necessary to scrutinize people pushing
