War is often a necessary evil. Yes there are the cliched arguments that all wars are about resources, etc, but I believe that war arises sometimes because there is a genuine need to defend [oneself, family, civilization] from harm from evil pe

On a related note: in my experience, I've always found people of the reddit community to be very smart, but also very negative, and very insensitive, vs. people on news.yc being smart, pragmatic, and at some times...irrational. This is base

The problem with this is you're assuming the target will actually access his encrypted data while in the hotel room. If you really want to cut it in half, just kidnap him and hit him with this $5 wrench until he tells us the password. We're

Just keep it in a lock case. This solves the problem of Evil Maids, but not of Evil Maids-financed-by-the-NSA-with-lockpickers. I have to imagine that if those types of people were after your encrypted info, you'd know and you'd probably kee

It doesn't matter how big a game dev gets: Facebook makes it possible; appdevs are wondering when the "tax" will start. Well, a de facto tax has already has started, and forcing devs to use less viral channels is when it started. The "tax"

Its actually crazy, because his game isn't on a platform and hes making $1.5m. He could probably make much more than that if he found out a way to leverage his current userbase on Facebook, Iphone et al.

No expert, but is it possible that this technology could be coupled with cameras using an object recognition algorithm? Once it had narrowed the space, it could then scan.

Lmgtfy is kind of snarky, which is why I suspect you're getting downmodded. Anyways, what exactly are you inferring from this? That those who commit drug felonies are not violent offenders? Even if that were true, your "citations" still don

Mostly pot smokers and non-violent offenders. Citation needed. My father works in a medium-security prison, and it is exactly as "people imagine".

It is very similar to ajax. The problem I have is when a game gets into the 2KLOC territory and above; when you have multiple files loading at different times in the game engine in order to offer the player a better experience. This leads t

Pretty smooth demo :). I see what you mean now, but i was going on the assumption that in a turn based game he wouldn't need to do much transformation, hence, my suggestion to just use pngs and allow the browser to redraw them.

How do you describe the SVGs (i.e., the sprites) that get sent to the browser?

Edit: also because you are using an XML format with SVG, you'll need to be conscious of parse-time (vs. binary format which is handled natively). This is non-trivial (trust me, i've tried it). Most game developers don't think like web devel
