And the best in software make tens of millions. What is your point? If we're comparing outliers, software engineers at software firms win by a long shot.

Easy. Just use deis [1]. Or CoreOS [2], if you're more hardcore. In any case, with the advent of Docker and 12-factor -- not to mention openstack [3] -- Heroku is a commodity or fast approaching it, and will soon face pricing pressure.

I don't even think you need to learn it eventually . For a similar argument, ask if most programmers need to learn assembly or further down the stack, EE, eventually. The answer is a resounding no. Extrapolating this even further, in

Rather than paying a particularly good programmer 10x as much, you can just hire 10 mediocre programmers, and they will probably get more done. Not in finance; let me tell you from my experience poorly building a bitcoin tr

You should really try out AngularJS. The declarative syntax of it reminds me of Flex quite a bit. I haven't used AS3 or Flex in years and really miss that environment, and when I started using AngularJS I felt like I got a taste of it

I'm sure CAD software made lots of car designers redundant. What most people in our industry seem to not realize is the intense power accumulation laws at work. 1 Designer can now do the work that 50 could in the 50s. All that wealth i
