I noticed that when I use the expression "the ball is in their hand", I don't really care about the outcome. I'm just happy I don't have to deal with it right now. It's funny how accurate the expression is, now that I think about it. Handin

What's obvious to the people who downvoted you is that the YC program is about much more than $5k. http://www.ycombinator.com/about.html

FWIW, I like the bookshelf metaphor, more humane and enjoyable and still easy enough to browse.

beside that, I think it's a great idea. I read to my 4 year old son every night at bedtime, and I will definitely give astorybeforebed.com a try next time I'm on a business trip.

I also didn't find any information on pricing. There's a note on "you can record and preview before paying", but I wouldn't want to go through the trouble of recording and figure out at the last minute that the thing is way beyond my budge

I had the same reaction as others here. Liked the design a lot, browsed through the books, opened one and got confused about what "recording" was supposed to mean. Flipped through the end of the book, and went to the FAQ, got even more conf

Honestly, you don't sound that reasonable. EPA, NYC, HSS are not "The Government", they are different entities with different roles and goals. Perhaps someone lied about the air at ground zero (I don't know the facts, is that even proven?),

Here's my 2c. Feels like information overload. If I click on 'Books to read' on the homepage, I'm expecting a list of books to read. Here's what I get: * Picture of Phil with some unrelated stats. * List of karts created by Phil, with the

I still remember having to look into a French-English dictionary to find the right word for 'spacesuit'... Old games are like legos, less sophistication = more imagination.

While I've used exotic names before, I prefer descriptive names, like web1, web2, db1, dev. etc.. When I'm ready to reboot a machine or drop a table, I like to see 'DEV' on the hostname and not 'DB1'...

Agree with others, start with showing off a great portfolio. The second most important point in my opinion is reliability. Once you get your first client, make sure to touch base regularly, keep them informed of the process and delays, ask

I mus ask, what was the learning experience? I never played UO, but it sounds like there's no consequences for "immoral" actions, so while it might be fun to turn against your savior, it hardly applies to any real-life experience (hopefully

The problem is that the support channel is a black hole. There's no way of knowing where your request is in the queue. Has it been reviewed? dismissed? do you need to be more patient? should you submit it again? What about starting with giv
