In my computer room, I use one of these with a "white" light bulb - a traditional bulb with blue glass that makes the light much more white. They seem brighter, too. I don't care as much for florescent lighting, so that's worked best for me

I have a reasonably fast machine, but iPaper seems at least as unresponsive as Reader.

If the photo looks "fake", sure. I think a decent photo would work great - maybe one of the founders or from users?

There were a lot of "guess the number of X in a jar" type contests when I was in primary school. I think I won nearly every single one, because I was (one of?) the the only one(s) estimating mathematically. It always seemed pretty obvious t

The fifth year is quite possibly a year of work-study, like in my degree. Either that or adding a second degree/masters, which is going to increase earnings potential hugely. I have seen statistics before about how having a degree positivel

I think including potential wages is at least a little weaselly. Besides the fact that you can work while going to school, get scholarships, etc, you could just as easily say that any lost earning potential while taking classes should quick

From my experiences, I would discount most CS programs. Software Engineering may be a better fit for what you're describing, especially the entrepreneurial part. I attend the Rochester Institute of Technology, and the Software Engineering c

Imagine 2+ users, each wanting say, Verdana or not-Verdana, and each giving you a dollar each time you change it.

Note to self: If you're going to commit felony file deletion, make sure that you at least do a good enough job that the files aren't recoverable.

That looks really neat. I had wondered about using S3 for backups. I'll definitely have to try it out. It looks like the "Plus" service's block-level access and transfer resume would pay for itself pretty quickly with a reasonable volume o

Flex is for data, Flash is for graphics. (I haven't tried Flex.) You're going to need a way to create the graphical assets for your application, and as far as I know that means Flash - especially if you want vector graphics. The Flex SDK i

I believe it, even if it's slightly exaggerated. I interviewed for an internship with someone frighteningly similar. (It was one of the major eBay wholesalers, the whole operation was absurdly shady.)

Read the comments - the founder left a couple of very nice replies at the bottom of the page. It seems like a lot of people (Arrington especially) don't bother to understand the idea or the market. To me it looks like a fine business, and t
