I found Wesabe more compelling, and it's what I've been using for the past 3(?) years. Unfortunately, Wesabe got less functional for me over time instead of more. I liked their philosophy a lot, but they never did a very good job of overcom

Some people keep "job postings" up that never close because they are just collecting resumes rather than filling an open position. See justin.tv for instance. I guess that sort of ties into your #3.

It's self-serving "ignorance" - some people tell themselves that whatever is most beneficial to them is how things must work.

My two college-age siblings plus both parents are all on a Verizon "family" plan with something like 1000 minutes. It's absurdly stress-inducing, with fights and fingers pointed etc if the minutes start to run out.

I went from despising scribd to not minding it. Flash was inferior to pdf in a number of ways and didn't have many advantages; html actually has some advantages.

There's no reason a merchant has to stop billing a customer after an otherwise perfectly good card expires. Having your billing process fail on that is pretty dumb.

From what I recall, later immigrants and second-generation Cuban-Americans tend to be significantly less supportive of the hard-line stance towards Cuba. The original generation of immigrants dying off over time is likely what will lead to

Definitely a great resource. I had never seen that site today, but it agrees again and again with my personal experience and what I've learned from reading.

No, I'm pretty tomatoes are just sold as tomatoes. Produce is produce until you're trying to justify charging a multiplier of the base price.

Prepaid is rarely advertised in the US, especially the good prepaid. Companies want you on costly voice, data, etc plans and locked into a 2-year contract.

I've used T-Mobile prepaid for years and converted dozens of people to it. You can use any (compatible) phone you want with it, just insert SIM. The minutes never expire as long as you buy minutes at least once a year, which will cost you a

Going to Podunk University has little to do with challenging yourself. Most people (including "smart" people) would likely be better off taking a free ride at Podunk U than an $80K+ degree at a "prestigious" private school.

Some of the claims Pollan makes are sketchy. I don't recall that passage, but I'd probably want to see a source before believing it.

I suspect it's a matter of time, at least for Firefox if not for Chrome. Firefox's is mainly frequency based, so it needs a little while to train. It took 2-3 weeks for FF's bar to really start to get awesome for me.

Works fine for me in Chrome on Windows, 4.1.249.1064. Mac might be on an older release or have a platform-specific issue.

"Doctors don't do this" is a little broad. Anecdotally, I have had a doctor refuse to prescribe a less expensive medication, but more often I have had doctors be sympathetic to paying out of pocket. Sometimes they may not even know how much

Compared to SF, or even Seattle? Obviously not even close. There are jobs though if you're set on being there, not to mention the possibility of (tele)commuting.

I'm pretty sure it says more about the show. I'm no expert, but I think the tone is strikes might work for younger children, but likely not very well for the older children I'd think they'd be targeting with investing education.

3D seems to work significantly better on 100% animated movies. Both Coraline and UP were better with 3D than without, IMO.

That's a very low quality stream, and the website doesn't even link to it. The website links to the "premium" version of that provider, which you have to pay for. It looks like they have a lot of technology issues to work out.

I have a hard time believing many people have read Code Complete cover to cover, unless perhaps they're older and it was a long time ago before that was much better to do. It's so dry that I can't get more than a couple of chapters without

I take it that might be a joke, but it's not the case for me. When the timer runs out it doesn't lock me out until I navigate away from the page, and it even allows a POST so I can submit the comment.
