Can you speak more to why you think taxes are barbaric? Is there an alternative? They strike me as one of the cornerstones of civilization. I.e. the state builds things that are for the common good using those resources.

Did it reason though? My understanding is that these models just give back the answer best statistically connected to the input text.

I find stars helpful when I'm evaluating several different repos to choose a particular tool for a job. If one of the repos has many more stars, I weigh that strongly when choosing. Freshness of commits is definitely important, but for

Wasnt this issue caused because SVB bought a long term, illiquid instrument? I.e they made a rather individual choice to lock up most of their assets this way. Does that actually suggest this is more broadly systemic?

It looks like there was a little movement in the space not too far back: https://ankane.org/new-ml-gems But I don't know how often this is used in production. I've ended up training the models in python and then l

To me, that's actually one of the most optimistic parts. The author is willing to build what markets want, not a passion project, which is a turning point.

I remember chatting with you about your recipe app at the IndieHackers meet up in NYC. Man, what a journey from there to here!

Pretty neat! So it looks like you have a few things happening in parallel. What is instruction level paralellism and how does it speed the sort up?

The richest man in babylon - a book of parables about an ancient babylonian who accumulated wealth - is a fun read and a nice way to pick up some essential concepts in an entertaining way.

You love to see the continued investment in this language. I've been using Ruby for about a decade and I'm still enjoying writing code in it. I hope the language continues to improve and the community stays vibrant. I can remember

There are probably partners who have significant reach, and would be interested in a revenue share with your platform, or maybe a white-labeling solution. HumbleBundle, or something along those lines comes to mind.

It could be useful to graph things on a server where you don't have a graphical desktop. Graphing CPU performance is a common example.

The FAA has risk reduction baked into it's very heart and soul and this is evident the more you learn about how the system operates (go look at a flying textbook). It is not perfect organization, but I think it deserves more credit tha

You could (should?) ask others in your company at the C-Level to give you a high level briefing on what they work on, and how they think about their work. They may also have favored books, materials etc. Coming from a technical background w

Neat platform. I think geopolitics, currently is, and will likely be a heavy driver of market moving events over the next couple of decades. Any plans to support that space more deeply?

There have been some interesting ML gems rolled in the past few years: https://ankane.org/new-ml-gems Any thoughts on what the Ruby community would need to build in order for it to become an attractive tool for AI work?

I'm actually working on a product that identifies catalysts via AI and presents them (currently through text, possibly through API and imagery later). Drop me a line if you'd like to chat more about this space.

That first article just reads like scare porn, calibrated to maximize clicks, while being light on actual substance. It looks like the author has a history of writing like this. I wonder what her track record of being "right" is?

Yep, it's been a game changer and I happily spent the money. As someone who has strong programming intention, but is not always able to easily remember syntax, or visualize a solution, it's been a force multiplier.

We're working with AI to help human writers write financial content, and we're not far off rolling our own models. Is that too run-of-the-mill for this? We do have some traction.
