You're right when I used the word I was referring to "Audit the Fed" slogan à la Bernie Sanders & Ron Paul. The bill in question that was striked down is here [0]. The bill's purpose > ...If enacted, the bill woul

@JumpCrisscross how independent are they really? The fact that they will not entertain a thorough audit is in itself instructive. Perhaps central banking is too "centralized" and susceptible to corruption even in a well-run system

Alan Kay had a good answer on quora for this. Let me confess that I’ve not read every answer. But the ones that I did read were all very concerned with “squaring” etc. The simplest answer — and I think the reason many people have difficult

Slow. This will span many years for me. Check out [0]. Applying slow to reading, thinking, eating, etc. invariable leads to good results. It is also a great heuristic. Also things inimical to slow are usually bad: social media (esp twitter)

To meet this quantity you will by definition have to read mediocre / non-new (i.e. new in the Alan Kay sense) stuff. Books that are mind-augmenting require time commitments that make getting to 100 impossible in a year. Any decent ma

I think more and more people will start to realize this is the 'local' currency of the web. I plan on trying to exit fiat (USD) completely in the next decade. Exciting times!!

You cannot have a turing award and be a `peripheral figure` in the history of CS. And of the turing award recipients he cares most about the field reminiscent of physicists, mathematicians, geologists, etc. (Last sentence is my opinion.)

I don't have numbers but people borrow for associate degrees and some college or to go to Trump U. I would guess most millennials have educational debt and don't have >= bachelor degree.
