Nice, and two LCD modes to adapt to different GBA screens! (presumably the GBA and GBA SP first model, vs the GBA SP second model with backlight)

There's a similar issue with retro video games and emulators: the screens on the original devices often had low color saturation, so the RGB data in those games were very saturated to compensate. Then people took the ROMs to use in emu

Ah interesting, I thought greens were all green vegetables. It's a bit of a moot point though, since the blog post is about edible plants in general.

Not sure I agree, I think there's as much difference between spinach, leek, fennel and Brussels sprouts as between beef and deer and that's without foraging into fancy vegetables...

In the Typst web app, you can link a project to a Git repository. This way you can have real-time collaboration in the web app, and versioning through Git. It's not the same as Overleaf's history GUI, but it's functional.

LaTeX has made great progress on this front in the past years and results are now available in TeX Live 2025. Compared to Typst, on one hand the tagging is still opt-in [1]. On the other hand, LaTeX already targets PDF/UA-2 including a

Thanks for sharing the background. It's impressive work. Makes me curious about your thesis... Is it publicly available?

Indeed... I wonder to what extent the author of hayro did this work specifically for Typst or if they would have done it anyway.

Those are probably PDFs with XFA forms. Not very common in general but if you often get PDFs from sources that use that then yeah you'll see it all the time. Good news it that it was deprecated, it's not in PDF 2.0.

You prefer more dead people and more people in prison, rather than fewer of both? Also, the same event (e.g. someone dying in a car crash) doesn't always have the same responsibilities behind it. If I kill someone by driving recklessly

I use it to generate PDF. The last release introduced experimental HTML output which is promising but still immature. Work on EPUB support hasn't started as far as I know but it's on the roadmap, and I guess it will be relatively

I moved from Pandoc+Lua filters to Typst. Having the scripting language integrated is just nicer, though I sometimes miss the separation between data (from Pandoc markdown) and code.

For niri I followed closely the build and "manual installation" and "example systemd setup" instructions on the website. If you do that don't forget to edit niri.service to set the correct path for the executable. F

I'm using niri with quickshell now and it has a similar feel, as quickshell implements many features in a unified way as in Gnome Shell. In niri you can have the bar on all monitors, and you can also configure a window to fill the avai

I think his main point is about strict typing in Fortran. You can add type annotations in Julia but it's almost an anti-pattern if you don't need them e.g. for dispatch. In any case the type annotations in these examples would be

You can import settings.typ in top.typ, and then import top.typ in education.typ. This way the variable/function definitions will propagate. Or you can import settings.typ in all files that need it (education.typ, etc.). What doesn

Regarding point 1: I'm so glad they didn't keep the math syntax, there's finally progress in math text input! E.g. we can now write $ ZZ &= { ..., -1, 0, 1, ... } \ QQ &= { p/q : p, q in ZZ } $ $

The right way to approach this is to ask a question: What does 0.999... mean? What is the mathematical definition of this notation? It's not "what you get when you continue to infinity" (which is not clear). It's the va
