Obviously you can manually inline functions. That's what happened in the article. The comment is about having a directive or annotation to make the compiler inline the function for you, which Go does not have. IMO, the pre-inline code

There are good reasons to do this on mobile: 1. Phones these days are tall. It can be difficult to reach the top of the screen. The height of the screen is great for reading content, but it makes sense to load the initial navigation pieces

Oh wow, this is a pretty gnarly issue for the Python packaging story, considering the looming deprecation of setup.py. I traced the discussion to [1], which is an interesting read, but it seems that progress on this died out in April, at le

With project.toml, the new strat is to build the wheel with `python3 -m build` and then install it with `pip install --root=$DESTDIR` plus a handful of flags to tell pip not to touch the network or the local cache. It's not great, but

DI buys you maintainability. Without DI, there's too much flexibility in how objects get constructed. If you want to add new functionality to a legacy code base, it can be difficult to track down the different integration points and sl

Throughput in Java can be quite high, and latency can be quite low. You still occasionally get latency spikes from the GC, but these days that's not so bad. (If you are extremely latency sensitive, stick to C++). Dependency injection

The base58 code in the post is wrong, but your version isn't right either. Since the alphabet is 58 characters, each character contains log2(58) bits. Since that's not an integer, the encoding process is a bit more complex than ju

For a hash trie, the depth is bounded by the log of the number of elements: O(log(n)). I think O(log(k)) would mean that the bound is based on the size of the largest key. This may be true of regular tries, but not of hash tries.
