It's just format-shifting content. Rather than reading an article, someone might prefer to have the content casually chit-chatted at them. Nothing wrong with that, and a handy function if you're into that sort of thing. I can see

A quick search says average cars consume ~25% more gas with AC, making it somewhat high. Tons of websites say this but in my own testing during my commute the difference is almost unnoticeable, let alone a full 25%.

You didn't just get a storage card? Between an SD card and a CF microdrive I kept a ton of media on my pocket PC. Most of the ones that came out in 2003 and onwards had bluetooth and wifi built in.

WM5 was a pile of garbage compared to WM 2003. "Let's sacrifice a massive chunk of the screen for two useless yet omnipresent shortcut buttons."

The mid to late xscale era got very weird. Between the 90s and early 2000s handheld processors were growing in leaps and bounds. At the height in 2004 devices like the Dell x50v were shipping with 624mhz xscale chips with a dedicated GPU wi

I don't know why but tech industry folks tend to be very resistant to the stupendous complexity of biological systems. The way biology builds functionality into structure can result in incredible space efficiency. Like neurons, for exa

If our civilization survives, we will, one day, through one manner or another, banish death. If that day comes, when it comes, I hope Jake's name is remembered for the monument to all who we lost, all of us who've had to grow and

Man it would be so cool to get AI-assisted photogrammetry. Imagine that instead of taking a hundred photos or a slow scan and having to labor over a point cloud, you could just take like three pictures and then go down a checklist. "Is

Multi-family units and rezoning single family plots is great. Trying to get poor people to live in the back yard like a family pet is a humiliating proposition.

I don't understand why all of the basic income studies I've seen seek to indicate whether or not giving someone free money improves their quality of life. That it does should be blindingly obvious, but that is not the question whi

Like a lot. Didn't YC even fund that startup that wanted to turn middle class suburban homeowners into slumlords by building rental poverty shacks in their back yards?

The modules on display don't seem to be a strong showing. A wallet case? Kickstand? Lanyard? These are things you can add to any phone with a $10 Amazon purchase. Compare this to the LG G5, which had a module that added a camera grip w
