I never voted for Putin and pretty sure that most of the Russian Namecheap clients never did. Namecheap was a safe harbour because the domain could be seized by the Russian authorities, and now it's act of betrayal of the loyal custome

The people who hold the guns do not use Namecheap they use official Russian registrators. Sberbank(which is under the sacntions) for example payed tens of thousand of dollars ( https://habr.com/ru/news/t/591929
