Exactly. They write, "Customers with less than 1GB but paying our full subscription fee were our most profitable customers." Shouldn't they have known how many paying customers were below the 1GB threshold and been able to anticipate all t

I think his point was that the example in the article makes little sense -- if you're typing "match.com" into Google you clearly haven't forgotten that the domain name is "match.com" ... You probably just don't know that you can type it in

I disagree with this. At least from my own perspective, numbered list imply one thing: that I can expect a specific number of items. In fact, in the given example, the non-numbered version of the title sounds like it should be more authori

Is it just me or is the search button blurry? It's making me feel drunk, which, when browsing for open source software really isn't a great way to feel. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3953/blurrysf.jpg

I don't think this could ever actually work. If you've already lost 2 followers, then your tweet is already out there in the timelines of your followers. Those who are going to see it, probably already have. Those who aren't, probably wer

Well, Thomas Fuchs also created script.aculo.us, so I'm thinking he can rewrite it if he wants. I suppose he and the handful of people he worked with on Scripty2 with thought they could do it better, faster, lighter, whatever if they start

You can't say "You haven't seen this before" when you were covered on ReadWriteWeb 2 weeks ago -- that means a lot of us have seen it before. ;) That said, it is a cool app. Nice work. One critique: There was no easy way that I could see

Any experience with domain transfers (with either DynaDot or 1and1)?

Well, the reason is I just no longer trust their software. Only getting email updates about auto-renewals for some, but not all of my domains was never a big deal, but another apparent mistake (their software not updating my CC across all

I used to use http://www.w3counter.com/ and never had any problems with it. I honestly don't know how it compares to the rest mentioned here, though, as I have never used them.

The design is very pretty, but it actually seems kind of broken to me in Firefox 3.0.11 on the Mac (OS X 10.5.7, res: 1280x800). This is how it loads for me: http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/1438/69220612.jpg As you can see, the "Free Si

99designs wasn't built in 16 months. This is nicely spun (maybe the result of the PR company 99designs hired earlier this year?) but still rather misleading. I'm a former SitePoint employee, and have been around their forums since 2003 and

I usually just use a text file (Textmate is my editor of choice) to create a spec sheet describing what my idea is and how it works. From there I share that planning doc with my partner and we start making mockups together (or more likely,

What matters most to me in my decision to get a Pre or stick with the iPhone is carrier. I will never switch to Sprint. But I did switch to AT&T from Verizon to get an iPhone. I'd switch back in a second if Verizon either got the iPhon

I don't know that this argument is necessarily valid. I own an iPhone but I don't own a Kindle, and haven't used one for more than a couple of minutes, but a lot of people I've talked to who own both swear by the Kindle's e-Ink screen. Fr

Probably. $12/year to have a nice address book for keeping in touch with old high school/college buddies, and playing a couple of fun games (namely Prolific and Lexulous) seems worth it. Also, if enough people continued to use Facebook, it
