I'm pretty sure porn sites will adapt pretty fast. Nobody wants to be the last porn site not supported on the iPad.

Why not? You could encode the original video as multiple segments, in order to watch the next segment, you have to watch an ad. Maybe use some kind of long polling to ensure that the advertisement was watched in its entirety -- supply a u

If they support html5 video, why wouldn't video work? You can still encode the video to add advertisements like traditional media.

multi-core is also easier to scale on power efficiency -- turning off cores when speed isn't needed.

I also wonder why your java benchmark is slow. Java seems to be around 2-3x slower than C on average, this would make your optimized CL to be around 1.5x faster than C.

There's something that already does this -- phonegap. write an app in js/html and have access to native calls. It produces a native app so you'd have to go through the approval process like you mention.

try a better sound codec. I got lots of clipping using ulaw, but it's crystal clear on speex.

sipdroid only supports ulaw, which doesn't work too well. Although I like their interface better, it seems like they should support speex over ulaw. SipAgent supports speex and has generally better incoming call quality, but with a crappi

To a certain extend, iPhone users do depend on the Google suite of products. If you're a GMail user, you probably have lots of saved locations on your google maps, items on your google calendar, and contacts & voicemail on google voice

You need to give us a video tour of the inside too, like Tynan. I guess you won't be offering your apartment for future YC interviewees on airbnb anymore :-P

not really, if you're writing flash apps, there's a huge chance that you're actually writing as3 code, which gets compiled into DoABC tags (actionscript bytecode) and I don't think DoABC tags will ever be supported unless they implement a s

Also, I think most of the newer SWF files have lots of actionscript bytecode which is something that Gordon probably can't handle unless they implement their own stack-based virtual machine and implement all of the mx.core set of libraries.

I've done more repairs on my Roomba than any of my Swiffer mops. The gears on the Roomba brushes keep getting clogged with long strands of fiber. My Roomba model is pretty recent too -- only a year old.

Who says employers will only bring a single recruiter per company? Most of the companies listed are actually bringing 3-5 company people to help recruit, so it will still be pretty efficient. Also, I'm hoping that we have at least 50 candi
