the danger in the tenderloin is definitely overrated. People who think the tenderloin is dangerous has obviously never lived in places like NYC, Atlanta, or St. Louis. You could get mugged in broad daylight in Atlanta and the cops won't e

There's no doubt android will be everywhere eventually -- in a laundry machine, toaster, microwave, etc. However, whether android becomes an actual competitor to iOS is still undecided. App developers on the iOS platform still make around

Probably can do for cheaper. But if you're a company that owns a warehouse in Kentucky, you'll probably spend a few million in equipment at the warehouse where the $15,000 will feel like a drop in the sea. It cost Zappos $20M to outfit th

I think your definition is wrong, just go with wikipedia's definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scripting_language Javascript can be run at the command-line just like ruby, python, and the rest. You can write a full application in pu

It's not actually that costly to own a colocated server. A decent server will cost you around $2000 which will include 8 cores & 24gigs of memory. You can colocate it for around $60 a month, which is about $227 per month for 12 months

Extensions normally don't work with new versions mostly because of the em:maxVersion requirement in the install.rdf file all extensions use for their metadata. You can probably unzip your favorite extension, modify the file, zip it back up

I think that's what Yodlee is for right? Yodlee is what mint.com also used for their integrations with FIs.

There's also Outright.com, I believe they have Yodlee integration as well too. They're also free for any size account :-) I also believe they have a rest-based oauth 2.0 api in there as well.

Another good alternative is msgpack at http://msgpack.org/ It has it's own rpc mechanism as well that competes with thrift, although it is not IDL-based (however, their IDL is coming soon).

Considering Google has only paid out approx $30 million to Apple's $1 billion in app sales, that's pretty sad considering how many android devices are out there. An app developer might make more money on BREW than on Android.

50x less is kind of crazy though. There are nearly enough android devices out there, but you'll make 50x less money if you're an android developer. So an iPhone developer making $100,000 from Apple would only end up making around $2000 fr
