I personally don't think it'll so much "replace" as much as open up new doors. As in Cinema/TV didn't "replace" theatrical performances, theatre is still around and strong, but the audience has mostly

I said this in another thread, but if you haven't tried the Vive (or maybe Oculus with the Touch controllers, which are not generally available yet), then you haven't really tried VR. Wearing a stereoscopic headset is one thing, b

This, if you haven't tried the HTC Vive (or the Oculus with the Touch controllers, but mostly the Vive), then you haven't tried VR. There is no doubt in my mind this is no gimmick, it's the next step.

It's more like you're wearing goggles than "fixed eyes", you can still look around, your field of view is just restricted because of hardware limitation at the moment. This also is not a common reason for motion sickne

Lots more people pay attention to cars than tech. Those people all know the nice Teslas they see all around cities.

I don't know if I buy the reasoning in this article, but I agree that locking cell phones in a pouch is crazy. I would never go to a concert that made me do that. This solution is tantamount to movie studios and cable companies trying

Pretty good read, it's not what you think it'll be about at first. Super rambly though, hard to read, but wade through it for the last few paragraph where the actual take away is and it's a reasonable assessment.

Yea same here, the Surface Pro is just such a nice piece of powerful hardware and a great form factor to carry around. Having bash/linux subsystem on Windows makes it a pretty damn nice development machine for pretty much anything (web

Yea pretty sure they definitely mean "Add More Libraries" when they say "scaling", it wouldn't make sense otherwise given what CocoaPods does...

How can it be dead? It hasn't even begun yet. The original iPhone was $500 w/ contract, the first iteration of a new technology is always going to be expensive. Plus the Rift and Vive are just the high-end headsets, the GearVR is

Facebook at Work isn't going to be free. I also highly doubt they'll be touching any of the FB@Work data for mining, just like Google Apps for Business doesn't mine business accounts or serve ads.

It's arguably a lot easier to use Twilio for something like this because there's no hardware needed and you can be up and running in about 5 minutes for a simple setup. That said, the real difference here is probably that Twilio a

That's absurd, it can look the same and still be a crappy product that has issues like the battery blowing up. The consumer might not know the difference between your board and the lower quality one that looks the same on the outside,

It's actually possible to defuse the whole thing by just decompiling it into assembly and reading that, but you have to really know and be comfortable with ASM. There are a handful of students that do it each year at CMU though, so it&
