You can't use Apple Pay on top of a bank account that doesn't exist. 1.7b of the people in emerging markets don't have access to banking services. 500m+ of them have internet/cells and many have Facebook/WhatsApp. H

I agree in that they are probably comparing the wrong aspects of S3. You're not going to be able to compete on the speed anytime soon probably, and maybe even the capacity if it really takes off. But, anyone here that works on an Amazo

IPFS isn't decentralized cloud storage though. Unless you host your file yourself on your IPFS node, your file is not guaranteed to be available. Hence why Filecoin is a thing they are working on.

I like to imagine sometimes how these kinds of "revelations" happen in tech newsrooms. Reporter: Tell it to me straight, do you listen to the recordings? Google: Well yea, that's how we train the... Reporter: WE GOT 'EM!

I mean, the claim that he worked at a secret lab on alien tech should be the suspicious part... The burden on proof is on him to prove the story is real, not on others to disprove the stuff he makes up.

From what I understand, records show he worked at Los Alamos, but not his role, so he could have been a janitor for all we know. We also know he didn't actually go to MIT like he claims, and the way he explains the "alien tech&quo

"Banking services" does not mean just bank accounts, it means any services that depend on money being elsewhere, not in your hands. That debit card you use, it's backed by a bank. Most credit cards are backed by banks. Econom

In theory, sure. In practice, the miner implementations are the ones controlling the chain. The only difference is, I can name the CEOs and leaders of many of the Libra companies, I don't know who the leaders of the mining pools are.

Bitcoin is not more decentralized than Libra today[1]. Libra has 28 members, going to 100. The top 11 bitcoin mining pools control 99% of the hashrate. [1] https://www.blockchain.com/pools

They don't have to go that extreme, they could just tax Libra coins like securities. That would create a huge burden on their use as currency in the US.
