Bankruptcy is a death sentence if you rely on suppliers that won't sell you the supplies you need because they fear they won't get paid for them. This is what happened to Toys R Us. You're right that it's not a death sen

Two things are the biggest problem for Tesla: $900m in bonds due in early 2019 Loss of full $7500 federal tax credit probably in Q2 2018 but definitely Q3.

NYTimes doesn't truly paywall anything. You get a finite number of articles each month but easy to get around that with incognito mode. That being said, I'll probably subscribe soon.

Do you subscribe to any digital media as an alternative (or I suppose, as an alternative to the ad blocking alternative)?

I'm surprised the bus was never an option. Los Angeles has a pretty good bus system. Or light rail now that the Expo Line is open, though you need to be going to certain places for that.

I wonder what you'd need to charge? Lots of awful property mgmt companies out there because it cuts into property owner's profits to pay more for a better one. If demand is high, what's the motivation for the owner? I suspect

What American cities are your ant farms? New York? This seems like hyperbole to me. I think there is a happy medium between anti build NIMBYs of, say, San Francisco, and a so-called ant farm.

This article covers the good and bad of BART pretty well. https://www.mercurynews.com/2016/03/25/has-barts-cutting-edg... The nonstandard track width may have had good intentions but I think was a mistake.

Yeah, merely an observation, not a criticism of SaaS. However I do wonder sometimes, even with the resources and domain knowledge, if the super crazy scale these SaaS companies have to deal with tips the scales to be about the same reliabil

This is usually done for cost saving reasons, since the gauges don't need to be moved for right or left hand drive builds. Same goes for center "master power windows" controls, locks, etc Every time I see center mounted stuff

May want to browse the countless compensation discussions in the app Blind. Lots of Bay Area offer info there. Note that salary is a misnomer. The term now is "total compensation" which has a significant RSU portion.
